In 1897, Esther and Harry Jaffe started a small used furniture store in the heart of downtown Scranton, PA. The business enjoyed a slow but steady growth until 1931 when the couple's son Jerome brought new energy to the business.
In 1980, Lee Jaffe, son of Jerome and Bea took the furniture business to a new level. |

Lee introduced high end lines to the already successful manufacturers Penn offered and the design service became a more integral part of the business. At this time Jerome and Bea began to travel the world, importing from Asia, Europe and south America making available items in the Scranton area. This tradition continues today with Lee and Suzanne Jaffe and is reflected in our Indian and Brazilian collections. Today Lee's son Adam Jaffe is now President of Penn Furniture and along with his brother, Alexander, is the fourth generation of Jaffes enjoying a reputation for quality and integrity in the furniture industry. |
